"NRA has failed recently in its responsibilities to its members.  NRA is bleeding money and memberships.  The organization has lost power, prestige, respect, and the confidence of those who have most strongly supported it.  If it is to be saved, the ship must be righted quickly.  I believe that there are four main areas that need our immediate attention: 1. Restoring trust and confidence with transparency and fiscal responsibility; 2.  Increasing memberships to prior levels by regaining that lost trust; 3. Promoting safe and responsible firearms ownership, especially to beginning and young shooters.  It is our mission and our future; and 4. Supporting politicians and legislation consistent with our cause and again becoming a major factor in elections.

The task ahead is formidable but must be undertaken if NRA is to emerge from this grave situation and again prosper. I ask for your support so that together, we can save NRA and return it to its proud place of prominence."

David Mitten has been a Life Member of the NRA for 41 years and a member of the Ohio Gun Collector’s Association for 42 years.
